Team profile

USA

This will mark the eighth year that the USA have competed in the FIVB U21 World Championship and they are still seeking their first first-ever medal. Their best finish came in 2011 when they finished fourth, followed by an 11th place finish in 2013. The 2015 edition will be the sixth consecutive World Championship that the USA has taken part in. The USA qualified for the 2015 World Championship by taking the bronze at the 2014 NORCECA Continental Championship.

Friend Daniel

Friend Daniel

Dan Friend is in his second year as head coach of the men’s U21 team. As the head coach, Friend led the 2015 team to a second-place finish at the 2015 FIVB U21 Pan American Cup and the 2014 team to a bronze medal at the NORCECA Continental Championship. Friend also served as the head coach of the 2012 boy’s U19 team, which won bronze at the NORCECA Continental Championship.
