Bednaruk satisfied for his team win

Polish players celebrate their victory over Iran

Mexicali, Mexico, September 19, 2014 - Poland finished among the top ten teams at FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship after beating Iran in four sets.

For coach Jakub Bednaruk it was a good result, despite being out of the four contenders group.

“I think my team played well . They came back in the right time against a great rival like Iran. However I expected a better performance. The most important thing was to achieve a victory”

Poland showed good volleyball, especially with the 32 points recorded by Aleksander Sliwka who praised the attitude of his teammates in the victory and expressed that they are ready to contend for the ninth place on Sunday.

“We expect to close with a win as we expect to finish in a better position.”

Fadakar Alieriza, team manager of Poland, admitted that they began the match very well, but they lost control of the ball. “Things were so complicated after all as we could not control their ball attacks,” said Alieriza.

“We still have some expectations for our last match, and that one is a win,” He concluded. Poland will play against France, while Iran will match USA.
