Mexicali, Mexico, September 11, 2015 - China closed the first day of competition at the State Auditorium with a victory over Iran 3-1 (25-21, 25-14, 19-25, 25-21).
This victory was like winning at home for the Asian team that was supported by the Chinese residents of Mexicali.
Libin Liu scored 19 points for China, while Guanhghui Yu tallied 12. For Iran Salim Cheperli and Amin Esmaeilnezhad scored 9 apiece. Both teams gave up 28 points by error and were tied in the blocking game 11-11. However China recorded 9 collective aces against only 3 by Iran.
