Cuba overcome Mexico in straight sets

 

Cuban attack broke Mexican hopes of second victory.

Mexicali, Mexico, September 19, 2015 - Cuba overcame Mexico in straight sets(25-19, 25-23 and 25-22) after 77 minutes of game to look for the thirteenth place at the FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship.

The team coached by Rodolfo Luis Sanchez has Osmany Uriarte as their best player with 16 points, while Abrahan Alfonso Gavilan closed with 13.

Luis Sosa also registered double digit with a total of 12 points and Miguel Gutierrez scored 11.

Cuban defense was crucial to solve the match on their favor. Mexico tried to get some points and their strategy worked a little bit in the second and third set, when the team coached by Eduardo Murguia neared in the score.

Ridl Alexis Garay Nava scored 16 points for the hosts, followed by captain Enrique Ugalde, who closed with 10 and aced twice.

Mexico will match Egypt for the place 15 on Sunday Morning while Cuba will play for position number 13.
