Coordination meetings have taken place at the Baja California High Performance Centre in Mexico
Tijuana, Mexico, August 19, 2015 - Members of the FIVB Volleyball Mens' U21 World Championship Local Organising Committee met to discuss final preparations for the event, which will be held in Tijuana and Mexicali from September 11-20.
Baja California Sports and Physical Culture Institute Director Saul Castro Verdugo and High Performance Director César Osuna Brambila attended the meeting. Logistics and tournament operations in the cities of Tijuana and Mexicali were analysed during the meeting, as well as the early arrivals of several teams like Canada, China, Egypt and host team Mexico.
These teams are expected to arrive before the competition starts to hold a training camp. The Mexicans have anticipated their arrival, scheduled for the last week of August.
China and Egypt are expected to arrive on September 3, while Italy will arrive on September 9.
Official press conferences will be held at the venues in Tijuana and Mexicali. A group of volunteers has also begun preparing at the High Performance Centre. Moppers, ball retrievers and all the personnel that will be in charge of court operations is being put in place.
Organisational charts were discussed. The Medical Commission presented the official hospitals, and the official hotels for the teams and Control Committee officers were also confirmed.
This will be the sixth World Championship competition organised by the Baja California Sports Institute since 2007.
