Pavel Pankov is the MVP of FIVB Men’s U21 WCH

 

The best players at FIVB Men's U21 World Championship Received their Awards.

Tijuana, Mexico, September 20, 2015 - It can be  a déjà vu or maybe a special connection. Same city. Same place. Same court. Different age group.

But after all, Russian captain Pavel Pankov received the highest honors after being named Most Valuable Player of the FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship.

Just two years ago, Pankov was also awarded as MVP but, when his team were part of the U21 category at the High Performance Centre, after Russia beat China.

“This is a city with good memories for me. It will be. A very happy place, very good fans and people. I am happy for winning this tournament again and receiving the award,” Pankov mentioned.  

Along with the Russian captain, his teammates Dmtry Volkov and Dennis Bogdan were recognized by the FIVB Control Committee as Best First Outside Spiker and Best Second Outside Spiker, respectively.

Chinese Zhejia Zhang received the distinction as Best First Middle Blocker, while Turkish player Ozman Durmaz was honored as Second Best Middle Blocker.

Three South American players also received the distinction as part of the ideal team of the World Championship: Argentina’s Matias Sánchez and Santiago Danani as well as Brazil’s Caio Oliveira.

Sánchez received the award as Best Setter, while Danani was distinguished as Best Libero. Oliveira received the award as Best Opposite Spiker.

Prizes were given by members of the FIVB assigned to work at the Championship well as by Local Organizing Committee officers, diplomatic authorities as well as sponsors executives.
