Polish blocking game marked a huge difference of 16-6 over the Iranians
Mexicali, Mexico, September 19, 2015 - Poland defeated Iran in the final match of the classification round for places 9-12 at the Sports City State Auditorium by scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-22 and 25-19.
Aleksander Sliwka commanded the Polish attack by totalizing 32 points while Bartlomiej Lemanski scored 14, the same as Sahan Allah Verdian for Iran.
Rahman Taghi Zadeh finished with 12 points as second best scorer of the Iranian team, while Amin Esmaelinezhad finished with 10 and 3 aces.
Iran won the first set despite Polish attack was higher with more points as well as their blocking game.
The key for the Iranian team was on services with a huge difference of 5-1 during the first two sets.
Amin Esmaeilnezhad had aced three times for Iran. However Poland returned on the second and third and even began with an 8-4 advantage.
In the end Polish blocking game marked the difference by finishing 16-6 with a good performance by Rafal Szymura and Bartlomiej Mordyl.
