Russia start with the right foot

Tijuana, Mexico, September 11, 2015 - Defending champions Russia began with a 3-0 win over Poland by scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 26-24.

Russia had  a solid performance by Dimitry Volkov who scored 17 points, while Denis Bogdan finished with 15 and aced 5 times. Alexander Kimerov also had a double digits match with 11 tallies.

On the Polish side Bartlomiej Lipinsky recorded 11 points, while Aleksandre Silwka and Pavel Halaba scored 10 apiece.

Blocking game was tight between both teams with a 9-8 ballance in favor of Russia, after 1 hour and 30 minutes of play at the High Performance Centre. Poland played so hard the second and third sets, and even were so close to win the third. Russia will play their second match of the Pool phase against Argentina, while Poland will match The United States.
