Team profile

Argentina

Argentina have qualified for five consecutive U21 World Championships including Morocco 2007, India 2009, Brazil 2011, Turkey 2013 and now, Mexico 2015.  Their best result came in 2011 when the team coached by Juan Manuel Cichello won the silver medal after being beaten 3-2 by Russia in the final.  They won the 2008 South American Championship and in the last decade they have never finished lower than second place.  This year, 14 of their players will also participate at the U23 World Championship.

Alejandro Grossi

Alejandro Grossi

Alejandro Grossi took over as U21 coach in 2014 after serving as assistant coach to the men’s team and as coach of the U23 side. He enjoyed immediate success as the team won silver behind Brazil at the South American Championship. Cichello coached Gigantes del Sur in the Argentine A1 League for a number of years, but now has coached UNTREF for two seasons.
