Ju Genyin is a former spiker from the 1980s who helped China to victory at the 1986 and 1990 Asian Games.
He began coaching the national team in 1991 and later worked as assistant to Shanghai men’s team from 1995, a period that featured four national championships. As coach of the U19 side he led the team to second place at the 2013 FIVB U19 World Championship, second at the 2012 Asian Youth Championship and later second in the 2014 Asian Junior Championship, a result that qualified the team for Mexico.
