Brazil, among top eight teams

 

Brazilian Libero Rogerio Carvalho has become one of the most popular players at FIVB Men's U21 WCH.

Tijuana and Mexicali, September 12, 2015 - Russia, Brazil, China, Turkey and Italy are undefeated at FIVB Men’s U23 World Championship, after grabbing their second wins of the tournament.

Russia defeated Argentina in three sets (25-18, 25-23, 25-20) with 8 aces by Pavel Pankov and 17 total points by Dmitry Volkov.

Gaston Fernandez, the Argentinian captain, scored 15 units, while Nicolas Laso recorded 13. Both teams were tied in blocks with six on each side of the net. Argentina will face Poland and Russia will play against the United States on Sunday.

Brazil 3-0 IranAt Mexicali State Auditorium, Brazil defeated Iran in straight sets 25-11, 25-18 and 25-21. Douglas Souza scored 15 points for Brazil to finish as leading attacker, while Caio Oliveira finished with 11. On the Iranian side, Rahman Taghi Zadeh was the top scorer with 11 tallies and Akbar Valei finished with 5.

China 3-0 CubaThe Chinese National team clinched first place in Pool C, by getting their second victory after winning in three sets to Cuba by scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-18. Liu Libin, was the most outstanding player for China with 12 points. China's squad was lethal in front of the net. Miguel Lopez led Cuba with 10 points.

Turkey 3-0 MexicoTurkey beat hosts Mexico 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-14) with a solid blocking performance. Cansin Ogbai Enaboifo scored 14 points for Turkey, while Yansin Aydin scored 13. Enrique Ugalde Campo finished with 11 for Mexico and Ridl Alexis Garay Nava with 6. Turkey had 8 blocks against only 1 by Mexico.

Italy 3-0 France Italy remain undefeated after beating France in straight sets 25-13, 25-23 and 25-19 and are one step closer to get into the Top 8 teams.Sebastiano Milan was the key player of the italian squad by scoring 15 points, also Giacommo Raffaelli, scored 12. France had Joachim Panou as their best offensive player by registering 12 points. Stephen Boyer closed with 9.

Canada 3-2 EgyptBrandon Koppers scored 30 points to finish as the most productive player of Canada in their victory against Egypt in a five setter (30-32, 24-26, 25-29, 25-29, 15-9). Along with Koppers, captain Ryan Nickifor finished with 26 tallies. Ahmed Saad was the best scorer of the African team after registering 23 points, while Ahmed Saleh closed with 11 and Mohamed Abdelmohsen Seliman with 10.

Poland 3-0 USAPoland defeated the United States in three sets (25-22, 25-19, 25-14) with Bartlomiej Lipinski as their best player. Lipinski scored 16 points for Poland, while captain Aleksander Sliwka closed with 10 as well as Pawel Halaba. Jeffrey Jendryk Li was the best player on the American side, with 11 points, while Fey Kuopono closed with only 6.

Slovenia 3-1 JapanWith Stern Toncek as top scorer, Slovenia won in a four sets match against Japan (17-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-22). Toncek took the lead with 26 points. Japanese player Tsubasa Hisahara stood up as the best offensive player with 18 points, followed by Aturu Kumakura with 11 tallies.
