China claim the Bronze medal as they beat Brazil 3-1

 

China reached the podium after wining over Brazil.

Tijuana, Mexico, September 20, 2015 - China won the bronze medal at FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship after a victory over Brazil in four sets.

The Chinese team won by scores of 25-19, 25-21, 27-29 and 25-21. Rodrigo Leao topped the actions for the Brazilian team with 21 points, including a couple of aces, while Caio Oliveira scored 17 and Gabriel Kavalkievicz scored 11.

Libin Liu finished with 18 points for China, while Zhejia Zhang scored 15 units. China distributed the ball along with Yuanbo Li and Runtao Xia, who also recorded double digits. Li finished with 13 points and Xia with 12.

Weiqin Lin also contributed with two aces for China.

The match was so closed in attacking points on both sides of the net (55-54, one more by Brazil), but China dominated in blocks 11-7 and also finished with defensive advantage (25 digs against 19 of Brazil).

Brazil gave up more points in errors (a total of 31) despite a better control of reception (54-37) .

Brazil reacted in the third set, when China even had the match point. The South American team forced the chance to a fourth set, but the Asians had a better control of the ball to reach the podium.
